Terry Rozier’s guilty plea should get basketball to do all it can to prevent betting scams: relationships with bookies and betting companies to track bets and lobbying congress for new betting laws are only a start. Heck the league can’t just rely on the Feds anymore ! This fiasco should be the ultimate wake-up call.
If these steps aren’t taken, basketball will be dead in the water soon.

In most cases, the “dumb jock” stereotype simply doesn’t apply to most athletes. Many have gone on to teach, others get successful in other ways once their playing days end. The problem is the press feeds into this stereotype with its sports coverage.
It’s embarrassing, really.
After the findings on Steve McMicheal’s brain, the NFL needs to require concussed players take a month off after a concussion. For that matter, rookies should be tested for brain health and required to retire after a certain number of concussions. Otherwise, the NFL will fall out of the pan and into the fire as far as brain injury is concerned!
