🎧 Listen now as the U.S. strike on Venezuela is unpacked in this urgent Special Report, exposing global reactions, conflicting leadership claims, and the power behind the headlines.   🔊 Listen Here

In today’s episode of Special Report with Lillian Cauldwell, the U.S. military strike on Venezuela is examined as events unfold following the capture of Nicolás Maduro in Caracas. Lillian breaks down the statements coming from Washington, the conflicting messages from within Venezuela, and the growing global concern over who is actually in control.

Uncertainty surged after the capture of Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro in Caracas. During a Saturday press conference, the current U.S. president announced that the United States would “run” Venezuela until a “safe, proper, and judicious transition” could be arranged. He further stated that Delcy Rodríguez, Maduro’s deputy, had been sworn in as interim president and would partner with the U.S. in overseeing the country. He added that Rodríguez was “willing to do what we think is necessary to make Venezuela great again.”

But contradictions surfaced almost immediately. In a televised address, Rodríguez declared, “There is only one president in this
country, and his name is Nicolás Maduro. We are determined to be free. What is being done to Venezuela is barbaric.”

And the underlying question remains: Why did the U.S. launch this attack? Many observers point to oil and gas—a strategic resource
corridor that has long shaped geopolitical decisions—and to Venezuela’s role as a major fossil‑fuel supplier.

Why This Matters
This episode is more than a news story—it’s a window into the complexity of global politics, power struggles, and media narratives. As the world reacts to the U.S. strike on Venezuela, we’re left to question the true motivations behind the headlines and who ultimately bears the cost.

📢 What Do You Think?
Do you believe the U.S. should have intervened in Venezuela’s leadership? What role does oil really play in global decisions?
