It is also important to learn whether a facility offers different levels of care, such as assisted living or memory care, should a loved one need additional support in the future.
They also talked about the importance of visiting or calling our loved ones and spending time with them. Even when memory fades, loved ones often recognize our voices and feel our love.
Rand encouraged families to show appreciation for the staff caring for their loved ones. Betsy shared that she once went to the Director of Nursing to compliment a nurse who provided exceptional care. She also brought treats for each shift and gave gift cards to staff members who went above and beyond.
