Why did the Hospital abandon this worker |Nurse |PWTRN

Today I interviewed a healthcare provider her name is Kim she states she was assaulted by a patient while she was working her shift. During this interview, this is what she said. I was walking up to the nurse’s station and “bang” the patient sucker punched me in the back of the head with his fist. Two patients dragged me to safety. I woke up while the two patients dragging me to safety. Then the staff came to my side and told them to go and they got this. I hit the door and the cement floor. The incident itself didn’t sound like it lasted a long time but the aftermath of this assault is still

on. She spoke of the struggles of having to deal with physician appointments, workman comp, and other agencies.

This healthcare worker’s assault changed her life in a heartbeat.
