Lisa Skinner discussed the experiences she had with her grandmother and in her professional career. Lisa discussed hallucinations and behaviors with Alzheimer’s and why it is important to know what to expect and how to handle behaviors. Lisa also reported that the World Alzheimer’s Report of 2022 reported – Alzheimer’s as the #1 killer in the United Kingdom, Netherlands, and Finland. Alzheimer’s is expected to triple by 2050 and is a global epidemic! Lisa also discussed how important education is, to know your loved one’s wishes for end of life and how we need to have these important discussions while we are still healthy!
Lillian Cauldwell discussed her experiences with her husband Barry, and how we should visit those who have Dementia and not abandon them! Lillian Cauldwell also discussed Hispanic Heritage Month – September 15th-October 15.
Betsy Wurzel discussed her experiences with caregiving for her mother-in-law and her husband, Matt. Betsy encourages education for caregivers which benefits the caregiver and their loved one. Betsy also discussed how she started her advocacy, how she met Jeanne White the Station Manager of PWTRN, and how she became a Host at Passionate World Talk Radio.
Betsy, Lisa, and Lillian also discussed the importance of prearrangements, living wills, honoring our loved one’s wishes, and Power of Attorney for Medical and Financial affairs. This information is extremely important to know.
