The passing of Bill Russell is a tragedy. On top of the title “Civil Rights Champion”, Russell was an 11-time All-time NBA Champion, is the only man other than Wilt Chamberlain to snag 50 rebounds in a single game, and was an NBA All-Star 12 times! To put it simply, A Bill Russell doesn’t come into this world every day.
The Celtics, the NBA, and the town of Boston owe more than a mere debt to the man.
Condolences to the man’s family and friends, his former team, and the town of Boston. They need it now!
