Dementia and Relationships with Betsy Wurzel

Betsy Wurzel, Wife, Mother and Advocate

Betsy Wurzel is a guest speaker on a weekly basis to give help and suggestions to all caregivers. Betsy has been a caregiver to her husband Matt. Betsy has also been a  caregiver for her mother-in-law and her Father.  Betsy has many years as a caregiver and has found solutions to the daily caregiving for her family.  This week Betsy is speaking on relationships for caregivers.  There was much discussion on relationships on facebook.  The opinions were all over facebook.  Seems there may be some individuals that may get involved in a relationship while caring for their partner. Is this wrong for this to happen?  You may not know the circumstances of how or why these individuals found themselves in a relationship. We choose to be very opinionated. Sometimes the remarks are very cruel and hurtful.  Unless you are walking in their shoes, you really should be careful about your remarks.  Betsy talks about these relationships and how it could be many reasons why.  One example, maybe to help pay for some expenses by renting a room.  You just never what the story is for these relationships, nor should we know.

As a young adult, Josh Sloan is providing assistants to be a caregiver for his dad.  Josh talks about helping in the journey as one of the caregivers.  Josh talks about how he feels.  Great to hear how the children in the family feel about this disease.  If your children would like to talk with Josh, they can contact on Facebook.
