Charter Schools versus Public Schools Pros and Cons

We had a phenomenal guest, Jeff Rice, Founder and Director of the APLUS+Personalized Learning Network Association, a state-wide membership association whose mission is to advance the Flex-based, Personalized Learning educational model and to support schools that provide a personalized education for their enrolled students.

Now in its 22nd year, the APLUS+Network is compromised of more thanks to Personalized Learning Public Charter Schools that collectively serve more than 90,000 K-12 students in 56 of the 58 counties in California. Jeff has also been the longest-standing member of the California  Charter Schools Association member council having served since 2004.

Jeff Rice explained the history of how charter schools started, the difference between charter schools and public schools, how education has changed over the years, charter schools are held to a higher level of their student’s progress and curriculum. Also, Jeff discussed the different types of charter schools and the benefits of each one.
