Joining Shannon today is Detective Troy Zeeman. He has been married to his high school sweetheart (that’s me) for 19 years and we have two wonderful boys. Troy has been in Law Enforcement for over 25 years with many different assignments such as Patrol, Gang Units, and Traffic Investigations. He has been training active shooter response tactics since the Columbine school shooting in 1999. This is the fun part because I get to brag a little. Troy has been awarded the California State Governor’s Medal of Valor (by non-other that Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger), a Police Chief’s Citation, the City of Newport Beach Medal of Valor, along with numerous other awards for his amazing service to the public. After surviving the Route 91 mass shooting, we founded Active Shooter Prep with a single mission, to provide knowledge and hope of survival in an active shooter event. We have been training corporations, organizations, small businesses, and individuals since 2018 on what to do before, during, and after an active shooter event. We also wrote a book together sharing our story of how we survived the deadliest mass shooting in the United States and our training. Final Note: Even though the model of Run, Hide, Fight seems easy, the components of this model have specific tactics involved. In the upcoming shows, we will go over all of these tactics.
